Mystery Night

On mystery night we came to Scouts and we had to walk around the local area setting a treasure hunt for the Beavers to follow next week. Our clues could include signs on houses, street names etc.

It was an enjoyable night, but not all of the Patrols completed the task!

Bell ringing at St James-not an invasion warning!

If you noticed a massive racket one Thursday in the middle of town-it was us! The scouts were let loose on the bells in St James’ Minster.

Climbing

On the 3rd May 11th Grimsby Scout Troop all met at 6pm at St James’ School to set off to Hull in the minibus for climbing night.

On the way we saw the Humber Bridge, which for some was their first time. Also the older Scouts sang along to the radio.

When we arrived at our destination we were introduced to Mike who told us about what we were doing. Then we got into our harnesses and climbed up a climbing wall 2 at a time. Also if you wanted you could abseil down a 40ft tower assisted by Lawrence – only a few people tried this! After when a few were still having their turn, some others then went and played on the hill and played on the low ropes course. Alice quotes “It was scary, but I am glad I did it in the end.” Ashley quotes ” It was amazing. I’m so happy I did it.”

Shortly after we celebrated Andrew’s 12th birthday and had cake. Jamie also received his wood beads for finishing his Scout Leader training.

By Ashley, Assistant Patrol Leader of Cobra patrol.

Cops & Robbers Camp

At the end of April the Cubs and the Scouts went to Sudbrook to solve mysteries and go tracking. It rained a bit, but it was fun!

St George’s Day Parade 2012

11th Grimsby turned out in force for the annual district parade. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts enjoyed parading to St James’ Church from the Riverhead and sang their heart out during the service. A big well done to James, Sam, Holly, Euan, Dawid and Emily who read in Church.
